Project 52 | Week 6: Bokeh

The theme is … Bokeh: Let’s see some beautiful bokeh!

For those folks out there that don’t know what bokeh is, in Wikipedia it says: bokeh (Japanese pronunciation: [boke]) is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.”

So I have been driving around for a couple of days with my camera bag in the passenger seat, looking for a place to stop and get my shot for the week… looking for that perfect light to get some pretty bokeh… but this weather has not been cooperating… well anyway… last evening when I was driving the kids in-between activities, right when I was thinking I would need to pull out an old photo from the past to submit for this theme… I realized that what I was seeing out the front windshield would be the pefect bokeh! It’s what us moms see all the time when driving in between work and school and dance and swim team and piano lessons and playdates and cheerleading and basketball and ice skating and so-on…

So there it is… my mommy carpool bokeh… how many of us stare out the windshild to this vision day after day?!! LOL! Kinda pretty if you think about it, right?! : )

Don’t forget to complete our blog circle by going to Rachel May Fredericksburg Virginia Photographer www.rachelmayblog.com to see her take on bokeh.
