Project 52 | Week 4: Love
This weeks theme is Love: What does this word mean to you? What best defines it in your life?
When I saw this week’s theme I thought… easy enough… I’ll photograph my husband, son & daughter who I love with all my heart. I actually did take quite a few shots of them this week (which I will also include in the bottom of this post), including a portrait of my handsome husband which I realized I hadn’t done before, and I am glad I now have one.. but then one afternoon, I was sitting in my car, and looked down at a little love note my daughter wrote for me this week on scrap paper, and that is when I realized that I wanted my photo to not be showing who I love, but describing how much they love me! A love leter photo! Here it is, and below it I’ll explain…
I feel so loved… and am so very blessed to have them… and they tell me they love me all the time… It started with my husband… when we were dating we wrote each other letters and I kept a journal of that first year… (which I know would make an amazing love story)… I have the heart shaped note he gave me when he asked me to marry him, and all the little letters and cards in between… hidden away safely in a heart shaped box… and even after 11 years of marriage he still knows how to make me feel special… Now this must have filtered through him and into my children… who are so full of joy and love… I try to keep everything they have given me… kindergarten projects, love notes, mommy coupons, even a bell they gave me for Christmas one year, and every time they go to my dresser and ring it they say that is telling me they love me… all this stuff contributes to the clutter of “stuff” around the house… but someone once told me that my house looks full of love, so that is fine with me… this year for Valentine’s day I am going to relish in the amount of love I have around me… enjoy the running hugs when they come into the house and haven’t seen me all day, and the reading in bed cuddle time, and holding hands in the car… and how lucky I am to have these 3 love bugs in my life…
And here they are…

What a beautiful family. Print out this post, put a few of their love notes in that box, then put it at the bottom of your drawer for you to look at as they get older.
